Le nombre de bénéficiaires des prestations des institutions de microfinance de l’Union économique et monétaire ouest africaine (UEMOA) est ressorti à 12,73 millions en fin décembre 2016 . L’information a été donnée mercredi par la Banque Centrale des Etats de l’Afrique de l’Ouest (BCEAO).
Comparé à fin décembre 2015 où ce chiffre s’élevait à 12 millions, une augmentation 730.000 bénéficiaires est notée.
Durant la période sous revue, le nombre total des institutions de microfinance s’est établi à 702 dont 146 réalisent environ 90% des opérations de dépôts et de crédits de la finance décentralisée dans l’UEMOA.
Selon la BCEAO, 14 institutions de microfinance demeuraient sous administration provisoire.
Parmi ces structures, trois sont situées au Bénin, trois au Mali, trois au Sénégal, deux en Guinée-Bissau, une au Burkina Faso, une en Côte d’Ivoire et une au Togo.
