La Banque nationale d’Égypte (National Bank of Egypt– NBE) procède ce mardi 28 juin 2022 à l’ouverture de sa première succursale à Juba, au Soudan du Sud, avec un capital de 30 millions de dollars.
Dans une déclaration publiée dimanche 26 juin, le vice-président de la banque, Yahya Aboul Fotouh, a déclaré que la présence de la banque à Juba permet davantage de coopération et de développement en Afrique.
L’objectif de l’implantation est d’offrir des services bancaires et de conseil aux entreprises égyptiennes qui visent à investir sur le marché africain pour améliorer les importations et les exportations entre les différents.
La Banque nationale d’Égypte est un établissement financier égyptien. Fondé le 25 juin 1898, elle est la plus ancienne et la plus importante banque du pays. Selon le classement de The Banker, c’est la huitième banque africaine.
