Le gouvernement ivoirien a obtenu un accord de plus de 31 milliards de FCFA (42 millions d’euros) avec la Banque mondiale pour renforcer l’insertion des jeunes. L’information a été rendue publique par la Côte d’Ivoire le jeudi 16 mars.
En 2021, le ministre Ivoirien de la Promotion de la jeunesse, Mamadou Touré, annonçait l’ambition du gouvernement d’investir près de 461 milliards FCFA d’ici 2025 pour aider la Jeunesse à trouver sa place sur le marché de l’emploi.
Cette initiative des autorités est accompagnée par plusieurs partenaires dont la Banque mondiale.
Ce fonds servira à la mise en œuvre de la troisième phase du Projet emploi jeune et développement des compétences (PEJEDEC).
D’après le gouvernement, 68 000 jeunes seront pris en charge d'ici à 2026, dans le cadre du projet. L’objectif du projet, qui a démarré en 2012, est de renforcer les qualifications des jeunes afin de les rendre plus compétitifs sur le marché du travail dans certaines régions de Côte d’Ivoire.
Le projet intègre également un volet appui au secteur de l’enseignement technique et de la formation professionnelle. Le projet a atteint ses objectifs quantitatifs et qualitatifs pour ses phases 1 et 2, avec un taux de réalisation de 110%, soit 65 631 jeunes bénéficiaires dont 72% d’insérés, révèle le gouvernement.
Pour la mise en œuvre de la phase 3 du PEJEDEC au niveau local, en lien avec l’ARDCI, 24 Régions/districts ont été sélectionnés dans le cadre de la Maitrise d’Ouvrage Déléguée (MOD), pour la mise en œuvre de programmes de développement de compétences et d’accompagnement à l’auto-emploi, indique la note d’information.
