Selon l’agence Ecofin, la Bank of China, ouvrira une filiale en Angola durant le second semestre 2017. C’est ce qu’a annoncé le président de la chambre de commerce et de l’industrie sino-angolaise Xu Ning, dans un entretien accordé à Bloomberg.
Cette filiale qui s’appellera Banco da China – Sucursal em Angola viendra «encourager le commercer et faciliter l’investissement chinois en Angola» a indiqué le responsable.
Cette implantation de la Bank of China concrétise l’autorisation accordé à la compagnie chinoise en mai dernier. Pour Pékin, ce mouvement s’inscrit dans une dynamique de renforcement de sa présence africaine. La Chine a en effet consenti l’an dernier un financement de 4,5 milliards de $ à l’Angola pour la construction d’un barrage hydroélectrique à Caculo Cababa.
L’Angola est l’un des principaux partenaires commerciaux de l’empire du milieu en Afrique.
