La Banque internationale pour le commerce et l’industrie du Sénégal (BICIS), filiale locale du français BNP Paribas, a conclu avec l’Agence française de développement (AFD) son cinquième accord portant sur l’octroi d’une garantie ARIZ d’un montant de 3,5 millions d’euros soit 2.3 milliards de FCFA le jeudi 10 Décembre 2020.
Ce dispositif de partage de risques qui est mis en place par Proparco, filiale en charge du secteur privé de l’AFD dans les marchés émergents permettra de couvrir entre 50 et 75 % des prêts accordés par la BICIS à des petites et moyennes entreprises (PME), clientes au Sénégal.
La Banque prévoit ainsi de renforcer son offre de prêts aux PME qui constituent l’essentiel du tissu économique du pays.
Bénéficiaire de la garantie ARIZ depuis 2005, la BICIS dirigée par Bernard Levie a accompagné près de 400 PME à travers ce dispositif. « La garantie de portefeuille que nous signons avec Proparco est à son cinquième renouvellement ; ce qui témoigne de sa pertinence par rapport au marché des PME, auquel elle est destinée », a déclaré M. Levie.
ARIZ fait partie de l’initiative « Choose Africa » lancée par la France en 2019, qui vise à financer les startups et PME du continent à hauteur de 3.5 milliards d’euros d’ici 2022, a rappelé Fatoumata Sissoko-Sy, Directrice générale de Proparco.
