La nouvelle cimenterie devrait porter la capacité de production du groupe Dangote Cement au Nigeria de 35,25 millions à 41,25 millions de tonnes par an pour répondre à la demande locale et augmenter les exportations vers d’autres pays africains.
Le groupe Dangote Cement, propriété du milliardaire nigérian Aliko Dangote, a annoncé, dans un communiqué publié le 1er février 2023, la signature d’un accord avec la société d’ingénierie chinoise Sinoma International Engineering pour la construction d’une cimenterie d’une capacité de 6 millions de tonnes par an.
Cette quatrième cimenterie de Dangote Cement au Nigeria sera implantée dans l’État d’Ogun (Sud-Ouest), a-t-on ajouté de même source.
Elle devrait porter la capacité de production du groupe au Nigeria de 35,25 millions de tonnes à 41,25 millions de tonnes pour répondre à la demande locale et augmenter les volumes exportés vers d’autres pays africains, où l’insuffisance des infrastructures a multiplié les opportunités.
La cimenterie devrait également produire du clinker que Dangote Cement exporte vers d’autres pays comme le Cameroun et le Sénégal.
Outre le Nigeria, le groupe Dangote Cement dispose de cimenteries dans dix pays africains, dont le Cameroun, l’Éthiopie, la Tanzanie, le Sénégal, l’Afrique du Sud et le Ghana.
