La Banque centrale du Nigeria (CBN) a annoncé le 24 décembre 2020 avoir retiré les agréments de huit prestataires de services de paiement pour incapacité à satisfaire aux exigences de capital et non-respect du cahier des charges.

Prise depuis le 30 novembre 2020, la décision a été publiée au journal officiel du 4 décembre 2020, précise l’institution basée à Lagos. Les sociétés concernées sont Easifuel Ltd, Transaction processing system, Grand Towers, Paymaster, E-Revenue Gateway, Eartholeum Network, Globasure Ltd et 3Line Card Management. 

Dans un communiqué diffusé en août 2020 annonçant l’octroi de licences à 3 banques de services de paiement (PSB), le régulateur avait indiqué qu’il continuerait de suivre le développement du secteur dont les services sont prisés par les populations.
