La Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (BRVM) s’engage à promouvoir l’égalité des genres. En effet, la BRVM d’Abidjan a marqué la Journée internationale de la femme (JIF) par une cérémonie dédiée à l’égalité des genres.
Dr Amenounvé, le DG de la BRVM a rappelé que l’appropriation par la BRVM du concept « Ring the Bell For Gender Equality » et la signature du Women’s Empowerment Principales (WEPs) en 2019 marquent leur engagement à promouvoir les genres pour le développement du secteur financier en général, et du Marché Financier en particulier, au sein de leur Union. Il a rendu un hommage appuyé à toutes ces femmes qui contribuent à faire vivre le marché financier régional, par leur leadership, leurs actions et par l’exemple qu’elles constituent pour les générations actuelles et futures.
Il a noté des évolutions sensibles réalisées en matière d’égalité hommes-femmes par la BRVM au cours des dernières années. Ainsi, 3 femmes siègent désormais au Conseil d’Administration de la BRVM. De même, 3 des 7 antennes nationales de la Bourse sont dirigées par des femmes et 22 autres sont aux commandes des SGI, SGO et BTCC. L’on relève aussi deux femmes présidentes dans l’Association Professionnelle des SGI et des BTCC.
Ces exemples cités par Dr Amenounvé illustrent bien la place qu’occupent actuellement les femmes dans les instances de gouvernance et de gestion du marché financier de l’UEMOA. “Les efforts doivent être néanmoins poursuivis pour plus de représentativité”, a-t-il reconnu.
La BRVM a accueilli à son siège à Abidjan à l’occasion de cette journée, plusieurs femmes chefs d’entreprises. Dirigeantes de sociétés et d’institutions financières, présidentes et responsables de fondations ainsi que d’associations féminines. Mme Dior Latifa Diack, Directrice adjointe Innovation et Solutions B2B chez Orange Côte d’Ivoire, était la keynote speaker de cette édition.
