La filiale ivoirienne du groupe Camerounais Activia possède un capital social de 5 milliards de francs CFA dont 50 000 actions de 100 000 F CFA. Elle opérera dans la branches IARD (« incendie, accidents et risques divers ») numéros 1 à 18, conformément à l’article 328 du Code des assurances.
Installée dans la commune du plateau, la nouvelle compagnie comptera un personnel de moins de 50 personnes. Son responsable premier est Diarrassouba Baba.
Activia Côte d’Ivoire vient donc intégrer un marché ivoirien de l’assurance non vie très compétitif égayé par 21 compagnies. Et dominé par le Marocain Saham assurance avec 29,54% de part. Viennent ensuite Allianz (10,60%), SUNU (10,18%) et NSIA (9,05%). D’après les derniers chiffres de l’Association des sociétés d’assurances de Côte d’Ivoire (ASACI).
Notons que cette autorisation de la Conference Interafricaine des Marchés d’Assurances( CIMA) fait suite à l’enregistrement de la filiale ivoirienne Du groupe Activia au greffe du tribunal de commerce d’Abidjan le 1er mars dernier.
Pour rappel, Crée en 1998,le Groupe Activa est toujours détenu majoritairement par son fondateur, l’homme d’affaires Richard Lowe. Le Groupe est aujourd’hui présent dans 8 pays (France, Maurice, Guinée, Libéria, Sierra Leone, Ghana, RDC, Cameroun,) outre la Côte d’Ivoire, avec plus de 1 000 collaborateurs directs et indirects. En septembre 2016, la filiale de l’agence française de développement, Proparco a annoncé un investissement de 10 millions d’euros dans le groupe camerounais d’assurance Activa. Ces fonds ont pour but d’impulser le développement du groupe Camerounais en Afrique subsaharienne. La compagnie a annoncé l’ouverture prochaine de sa filiale de la République Démocratique du Congo( RDC) le 27 mai prochain.
