International Business Bank a été inauguré, le Jeudi 28 Janvier 2021 par le président burkinabé Roch Kaboré, en visite officielle dans le pays, en compagnie de son homologue Djiboutien Omar Guelleh.
Fondé par l’homme d’affaires burkinabé Mahamadou Bonkoungou, patron du groupe EBOMAF, il a décidé d’ouvrir une succursale à Djibouti dans la région de la corne de l’Afrique.
La banque avait obtenu son agrément depuis 2020.
IB Bank a démarré ses activités en octobre 2018 ; l’établissement est né de la reprise des activités de la BHBF, la banque de l’habitat du Burkina Faso, par le groupe EBOMAF suite à une augmentation de capital passée aujourd’hui à 22,8 milliards FCFA.
