Après l’annonce fin avril de nouveaux investissements dans le cadre de sa stratégie 2022-2026, Oikocredit et d’autres acteurs ont coinvesti dans Bankingly qui cible de nouveaux marchés d’opération en Afrique, en Amérique latine et en Asie.
La firme néerlandaise d’impact, Oikocredit, a annoncé ce lundi 9 mai 2022, avoir participé à un investissement de 10 millions $, mené par Dalus Capital, au profit de la fintech Bankingly.
L’opération permet à Oikocredit d’acquérir une participation minoritaire dans le capital de cette entreprise qui accompagne des institutions financières dans le développement de canaux numériques comme les applications mobiles et sites web. Grâce à ce nouveau cycle d’investissement, Bankingly prévoit de s’étendre sur 25 nouveaux marchés en Amérique latine, en Afrique et en Asie.
« Ce nouveau cycle d’investissement nous permet d’accéder à un cercle d’opportunités de croissance dans le segment des méthodes de paiement, des transferts de fonds et des modèles commerciaux émergents pour les institutions financières. Sans aucun doute, nous apportons des services numériques haut de gamme à un segment de clientèle historiquement mal desservi », a commenté Martin Naor, directeur général de Bankingly.
Cette annonce survient après qu’Oikocredit a annoncé fin avril, le renforcement de ses investissements avec des partenaires dans des secteurs tels que l’éducation, la santé, l’assainissement et les fintech, dans le cadre de sa stratégie 2022-2026.
A travers cet investissement, Oikocredit renforce ses engagements envers des fintech qui facilitent l’accès aux services financiers pour les personnes à faible revenu. Pour Bankingly, l’opération facilitera ses activités de numérisation de services financiers auprès d’institutions financières stratégiques.
Sur sa plateforme, elle revendique à ce jour, près de 100 institutions financières d’Amérique latine et d’Afrique. Ce qui représente plus de 3,5 millions d’utilisateurs finaux. Oikocredit et d’autres acteurs rejoindront les investisseurs existants de Bankingly tels que Elevar Equity et Endeavour Catalyst.
